Import taxes to expect by name: import VAT (IVA) and any customs duty. Rates and duties are confirmed by the importer's broker for the exact product classification.

Spain is in the EU customs union: goods are cleared once under the Union Customs Code and can then move within the single market.

Languages and documents

Official or main business languages: Spanish (plus Catalan, Galician, Basque regionally). Commercial invoice, packing list and battery descriptions should use the product names the importer will declare.

Local-language port names on file (confirm spelling on your documents): Algeciras: Puerto de Algeciras; Barcelona: Port de Barcelona; Bilbao: Puerto de Bilbao; Valencia: Puerto de Valencia.
