Shipment Status & Support

For tools, electronics & industrial equipment

Keep the battery story consistent with the equipment shipment.

Installed batteries, separately packed spares and mixed device models can change the transport setup. We turn the product configuration into a clearer shipment file.

The operational question comes before the UN number

Focus: whole-unit vs battery configuration, document cross-checks, packing integrity and project delivery requirements.

Is the battery installed in the device? Is it detached but packed with the equipment it powers? Are extra spares included? These look similar commercially, but they can lead to different packing instructions and acceptance checks.

Installed batteries

Map the device and battery as “contained in equipment,” then check activation protection and package integrity.

Detached matching batteries

Confirm that the battery is packed with the equipment it powers and that quantity and inner-pack controls fit.

Extra or unrelated spares

Separate standalone-battery content from the equipment configuration instead of hiding it inside a mixed description.

Multi-model orders

Align equipment SKUs, battery models, quantities and documents so the file can be reviewed at shipment level.

What we ask for

  • Equipment description, product model and intended use
  • Battery model, chemistry, Watt-hours and quantity per device
  • Installed, packed with, or additional standalone spares
  • Test-summary and SDS references covering the battery models
  • Protection against activation, short circuit and movement
  • Carton / pallet details, gross weight, dimensions and photos
  • Origin, destination, ready date and preferred delivery scope

Why this matters for air planning

Under 2026 IATA guidance, lithium-ion batteries packed with equipment under PI 966 have specific State of Charge requirements, while batteries contained in equipment under PI 967 are treated differently. “The battery ships with the product” is therefore not precise enough.

Practical tip: Put the battery model against each product SKU in your packing list or supporting model sheet. That makes document and configuration checks more reliable.

Configuration

Installed in the device, or packed beside it

Outer package holding a device with its battery already fitted inside.
Battery installed in the device. Schematic: battery contained in equipment. The device is protected against accidental activation and cushioned in the outer package. Commonly UN 3481 or UN 3091 (contained in equipment). Original schematic, not to scale.
Outer package holding a device and a separate battery in its own inner packaging.
Battery packed beside the device. Schematic: battery packed with equipment, not fitted. The battery sits in its own inner packaging next to the device. Commonly UN 3481 or UN 3091 (packed with equipment). Original schematic, not to scale.
An electric bicycle with its battery mounted on the frame
Cartons on a pallet being stretch-wrapped
Two power-tool battery packs side by side

One product order can contain more than one battery scenario.

Share the SKU, battery model and packing relationship so we can map the review correctly.
