Where this route gets difficult

5 points to plan for on the Xiamen → Tekirdag route

  1. Origin port

    Xiamen's 10-minute packaging appraisal only works for clean data

    Xiamen Customs now issues the packaging use-appraisal certificate for lithium batteries through the single window after automatic pre-review matching: about 10 minutes in the case reported in August 2026, against roughly half a day for the old on-site inspection. The fast path is only for products that pass pre-review as compliant and valid; anything that does not match goes back to inspection.

    What Anxin does: We check the product data, UN38.3 summary and packaging codes against the application before it is submitted, so the certificate comes through pre-review rather than falling back to an on-site check.

  2. Origin port

    Xiamen MSA's 'one ship, one plan' for large battery cargo

    Xiamen MSA offers pre-review of key DG documents, a pre-loading meeting at which ship, cargo owner, terminal and agent agree deck stowage and emergency measures, and a 'one ship, one plan' checklist from gate-in to sailing. In June 2026 it reported 104 energy-storage containers of 36 tonnes each loaded for Houston on a multipurpose ship.

    What Anxin does: We send the key documents for pre-review before the formal filing and bring the stowage and emergency details the meeting will ask for.

  3. Sea corridor

    The round-Africa alternative

    Services that avoid the Red Sea, 43% of the Mediterranean total, go round the Cape of Good Hope and re-enter through Gibraltar. SAMSA estimates that about 200 of the 576 containers lost at sea in 2024, 35% of the total, went overboard near the Cape.

    What Anxin does: On Cape sailings we apply the CINS blocking and bracing checks strictly on stuffing photos before sealing.

  4. Import country

    Shops may not sell brands without a collection system

    Turkish rules forbid distributors from selling battery brands that are not covered by a collection system, and require them to take back waste batteries free of charge. A brand shipped to Tekirdag before its importer has joined the system can end up unsellable in Turkish retail.

    What Anxin does: We ask the importer to confirm the brand is registered in its collection system before the first shipment leaves Xiamen.

  5. Import country

    TAREKS inspection before the customs declaration

    Under Communiqué 2017/15, battery imports are inspected through the TAREKS system on a risk-analysis basis, and the inspection happens before the customs declaration can be registered. The importer is legally responsible for the goods' compliance, so conformity documents need to be ready when the container reaches Tekirdag.

    What Anxin does: We send the importer the manufacturer's declaration of conformity, test reports and product photos before loading, for its TAREKS application.
