Xiamen to Daesan
Taiwan Strait · East China Sea · Yellow Sea
From Xiamen to Daesan, cargo moves from Fujian's battery makers through Xiamen port, crosses a short-sea route within Asia, and is discharged at the port of Daesan.
In Korea the manifest is filed before the ship leaves China and DG are reported to the port authority. Below are 5 route-specific points to plan for, what we do about each, and the documents to have ready before booking.
What we need to start
Route profile
Fujian's battery gateway, handling more than 90% of the province's lithium battery exports, with 10-minute online packaging appraisal for compliant products and the Taiwan Strait's winter monsoon on the doorstep.
KAMS timing and the port DG report matter most, with KC confirmation for batteries sold in Korea.

Where this route gets difficult
They run from the Xiamen terminal through the voyage to Daesan and the South Korea import file.
Xiamen's energy-storage transport guide 2.0 (August 2026) notes that some ESS containers sail on multipurpose ships and calls for a pre-voyage meeting with the terminal and lashing contractors. It names the terminals qualified for class 9: Xiamen Hyundai terminal, Yuanhai Tongda, and Haixiang berths 7–8.
What Anxin does: For ESS units we confirm early whether the carrier offers container-ship or multipurpose carriage, which qualified terminal is used, and who attends the pre-voyage meeting.
Leaving Xiamen, ships are in the Taiwan Strait at once. A Chinese government weather account says the strait's funnel effect adds 1–2 Beaufort levels to the wind, and that the north-east monsoon of winter and spring brings force 7 or more on about two days in three. Lashing on container ships should be secured accordingly.
What Anxin does: From October to April we apply the CINS blocking and bracing checks strictly on stuffing photos before sealing.
Routes that use the Taiwan Strait meet its funnel-effect winds, 1–2 Beaufort levels stronger than outside; in winter and spring the north-east monsoon brings force 7 or more on about two-thirds of days.
What Anxin does: From October to April we apply the CINS blocking and bracing checks strictly on stuffing photos.
At Daesan, dangerous goods are reported to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries before they come in, 24 hours ahead as a rule. The Act puts shippers and forwarders under a duty to notify the DG details, so gaps in the data from Xiamen show up here.
What Anxin does: We give the carrier's agent the UN number, class, packing group and quantity at booking, which is what the DG report for Daesan needs.
Loading and unloading dangerous goods in a Korean trade port needs an approved safety management plan and safety managers, and the work can be suspended in bad weather. A battery container at Daesan can therefore wait on the ship or in the yard while ordinary cargo moves.
What Anxin does: We tell the consignee when the vessel is expected and keep its trucking flexible for a day, in case DG discharge at Daesan is held back.

Documents & compliance
These documents come from the shipper, the manufacturer and the importer. Anxin checks them against each other; it does not issue test reports, safety data sheets or import certificates.

A document that is present but inconsistent holds a booking as surely as a missing one: the UN number, model name or carton count reads differently in the Xiamen export filings, the carrier booking and the South Korea import papers. We compare all three before confirming space.
Carriers we book with
Our booking panel; availability on this lane and acceptance of the declared UN numbers are confirmed for each booking. It does not mean that a listed carrier runs a direct service on this route. Carrier choice depends on the trade lane, cargo classification and each carrier's dangerous-goods acceptance at booking. The final carrier is confirmed on the booking.
