From Ningbo to Corner Brook, cargo moves through Ningbo-Zhoushan, crosses a long voyage ending in the North Atlantic or the Gulf of St Lawrence, and is discharged at the port of Corner Brook.
On the Canadian side the carrier's eManifest is due before loading and the road leg follows TDG conditions. Below are 5 route-specific points to plan for, what we do about each, and the documents to have ready before booking.
What we need to start
Route profile
Beilun and Meishan exports under Zhejiang MSA's January 2026 battery guide, which trims duplicate filings but not the carrier's own document checks.
An eManifest filed 24 hours before loading, release-before-payment only with CARM security, and TDG conditions on the truck leg.

Where this route gets difficult
They run from the Ningbo terminal through the voyage to Corner Brook and the Canada import file.
Zhejiang MSA's January 2026 battery guide sets a concrete loading test: no half of the container's length may carry more than 60% of the cargo weight, and packages must be braced. On board, deck stowage should be inside fire-fighting coverage and shaded from direct sun, and under-deck stowage in holds with temperature probes.
What Anxin does: We ask for the load plan before stuffing and check the 60% split on the stuffing photos, and we pass the shading and away-from-heat stowage request to the carrier on the booking.
NOAA's Ocean Prediction Center has recorded hurricane-force mid-latitude storms in the North Atlantic from October to April, most often in January. The final leg to Corner Brook crosses those waters.
What Anxin does: For winter sailings we check blocking and bracing on stuffing photos before sealing.
The CBSA requires marine carriers to transmit cargo and conveyance data for containers at least 24 hours before loading at the foreign port, including the estimated loading time. If the data are amended electronically before departure, the 24-hour count starts again from the CBSA's acknowledgement, so a late correction can push a box for Corner Brook off its vessel.
What Anxin does: We send the carrier the final cargo description, UN number, weights and consignee details before the cut-off in Ningbo and avoid amendments after the filing.
Canada accepts IMDG marking and documentation for the truck move out of Corner Brook (TDG s. 9.3), provided the shipping document is legible in English or French, gives a 24-hour number and the container is placarded under TDG Part 4 or the IMDG Code.
What Anxin does: We check that the DG declaration is in English, carries a 24-hour number that the consignee has arranged and matches the container's placards before the documents go to the Canadian trucker.
Canada's consumer packaging rules require most mandatory label information on prepackaged consumer products in both English and French. Only the dealer's name and address may be in one language, and imported goods that do not state their origin need 'imported by / importé par' before it.
What Anxin does: For retail-packed goods going to Corner Brook, we check the carton and retail-box artwork for the bilingual text before production is packed.

Documents & compliance
Test reports, safety data sheets and import certificates come from the shipper, factory and importer, not from Anxin; our part is to review them before booking.

Most delays on this route start with a document that exists but does not match: a UN number, a model name or a package count that differs between the Ningbo filings, the carrier booking and the Canada import file. We check the three against each other before the booking is confirmed.
Carriers we book with
Our booking panel; availability on this lane and acceptance of the declared UN numbers are confirmed for each booking. It does not mean that a listed carrier runs a direct service on this route. Carrier choice depends on the trade lane, cargo classification and each carrier's dangerous-goods acceptance at booking. The final carrier is confirmed on the booking.
Risk & mitigation
| Risk | Where | Mitigation | Who acts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uneven load rejected at the Ningbo packing check | Beilun / Meishan stuffing | Load plan checked before stuffing | Packing site, checked by Anxin |
| Stack damage in a winter storm | North Atlantic, Oct–Apr | CINS stuffing checks | Packing site, checked by Anxin |
| Container rolled after a late eManifest amendment | Loading port | Data final before filing | Carrier, with data from Anxin |
