This route runs from the Pearl River Delta via Nansha, then follows an Indian Ocean passage after the Malacca Strait; at the far end is the port of Payra.
In Bangladesh the manifest must name the DG class and technical name exactly. The 5 points below are particular to this lane; each comes with what we do and the paperwork it touches.
What we need to start
Route profile
Pearl River Delta battery cargo through Nansha, where a September 2026 agreement lets Dongguan-inspected containers load without a second MSA check, and where typhoon season runs June to October.
After the Malacca Strait comes the Indian Ocean, where the south-west monsoon and two cyclone seasons decide the pace.

Where this route gets difficult
They run from the Guangzhou terminal through the voyage to Payra and the Bangladesh import file.
On 22 September 2026 Dongguan and Guangzhou MSA agreed to extend the one-box model to Nansha: Guangzhou MSA recognises Dongguan MSA's factory inspection and does not re-inspect unless necessary. The first box was stuffed in Dongguan that day and sailed from Nansha to Singapore on 24 September. The model is new at Nansha, so the factory record has to be right first time.
What Anxin does: We ask at booking whether your Dongguan factory can use the Nansha one-box arrangement and make sure the stuffing photos, packing certificate and DG declaration match, because a mismatch is the 'necessary' case that brings the second inspection back.
The Hong Kong Observatory puts the region's tropical cyclone season from June to October, busiest July to September. Nansha sits at the mouth of the Pearl River; a closed gate or a changed vessel means the DG filings and the packing certificate have to follow the box to a new sailing.
What Anxin does: From June to October we leave slack between stuffing and the DG cut-off at Nansha and refile quickly if the vessel changes.
The India Meteorological Department describes two cyclone seasons in the North Indian Ocean, April–May and October–December, the latter being the main one. Port closures and vessels waiting out a storm push the arrival at Payra back.
What Anxin does: For sailings in those months we plan delivery with slack at Payra and confirm the carrier's revised arrival before booking onward transport.
Before a battery container is discharged at Payra, the Navy must issue a no-objection certificate on the NBR's list of documents. Missing papers delay discharge, not just clearance.
What Anxin does: We send the carrier and consignee the DG declaration, safety data sheet and packing certificate before sailing, so the NOC application for Payra can be made early.
Payra's Rabnabad channel has only about 5.9-6.5 m of water, and the port's first terminal is expected to open in October 2026. Services to Payra are limited to small vessels, and container handling should be confirmed with the carrier.
What Anxin does: We check with the carrier that it offers DG service to Payra and on what vessel before quoting, and suggest Chattogram if not.

Documents & compliance
Anxin reviews documents supplied by the shipper, manufacturer and importer; it does not issue test reports, safety data sheets or import certificates.

We line up UN numbers, model names and package counts across the Guangzhou filings, the booking with the carrier and the documents for Bangladesh before the booking is confirmed, so that a mismatch is fixed at origin rather than discovered at Payra.
Carriers we book with
Our booking panel; availability on this lane and acceptance of the declared UN numbers are confirmed for each booking. It does not mean that a listed carrier runs a direct service on this route. Carrier choice depends on the trade lane, cargo classification and each carrier's dangerous-goods acceptance at booking. The final carrier is confirmed on the booking.
Risk & mitigation
| Risk | Where | Mitigation | Who acts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typhoon closure after filings are made | Nansha, Jun–Oct | Slack in stuffing date; prompt refiling | Anxin with the declarant |
| Second inspection at Nansha because factory records are incomplete | Dongguan factory → Nansha | Photos, packing certificate and declaration matched before trucking | Anxin |
| Cyclone closes the port or delays arrival | North Indian Ocean, Apr–May and Oct–Dec | Slack in delivery plan | Carrier / consignee |
| Discharge delayed until the Navy NOC is issued | Bangladeshi port of discharge | Documents sent before sailing | Consignee, with documents from Anxin |
Questions
With the IMDG class and correct technical name, not a general description.
The India Meteorological Department describes two North Indian Ocean seasons, April–May and October–December, the latter being the main one.
Both now have a one-box arrangement with Dongguan MSA: Yantian since May 2026 and Nansha since 22 September 2026, so a container inspected at the factory need not be reopened at the terminal unless necessary. The choice then comes down to the carrier's service to your destination and the cut-offs; we compare both when you book.
